The G4ATL roller
brake
tester has been designed as a VOSA MOT approved product capable of testing
Class 1 & Class 2 motorcycles, class 3 trikes and class 4 motor vehicles. The G4ATL is controlled using an
infra-red remote control backed up by using a secondary manual operating
function.
The G4ATL also has an integrated weighing system and onboard
capability to capture left / right braking efforts and braking imbalances as
well as parking brake effort during a single simple operating cycle. It then automatically calculates the result of the brake test, including overall
efficiencies, as either a PASS; PASS with some
conditions; or FAIL. This feature removes the responsibility of these
calculations from the MOT tester and introduces a standard test. For this
reason, VOSA prefer this method of testing to be used where possible for new
applications.
Once a brake test has been completed and the result displayed, the data is downloaded
automatically by wireless blue-tooth to the GETECH ATL PC system to allow
automatic archiving of the data for use in the FREE MOT manager software.
This software enables
the archived customer database to be integrated with a mail-shot designed to
ensure that you
maintain and utilise your captured customer data.
Apart from the control system, there are other back-up features of this
product which will ensure that in rare times of crisis, the product can
still be operated to ensure that you can continue testing: This is known as
manual mode where in the unlikely instance of the ATL software and or
integrated weighing failing to operate, tests can still be performed with
the MOT tester manually operating the rollers and storing the data by
assigning in to the appropriate axle on the remote control in a similar
fashion to a
GE4 brake tester.
Once the
test is completed in manual mode the MOT tester can add the vehicle weight,
from data charts, and then the unit will automatically display measured
forces, imbalances and overall efficiencies the data for entry to the VTS device.
As the unit is designed in a modular format, it is possible to upgrade from
a
GE4 to this G4ATL enabling garage owners the option to minimise their
outgoing expenditure now and keep the option to upgrade to ATL testing in
the future. The unit requires a three phase, 32 Amp electrical supply and,
like other GETECH brake testers, is usually available from stock.
