The G547
Hydraulic Play Detector has been designed as a VOSA MOT approved product
capable of testing Class I / IV / VL / VII motor vehicles. The G547 is
controlled using an wired remote control containing an inspection torch. The
G547 is a cost-effective dual plate play detector, each plate imparting
either lateral or rotational forces to the steering and suspension system to
eliminate the requirement for an assistant during an MOT test. The G547 is capable for use either in a pit (G547INC) or hoist situation for
existing VTS stations who wish to apply for OPTL (One Person Test Lane)
status or of course as part of a GETECH MOT package.
During the test procedure, the play detector operates through a half-cycles
enabling the MOT tester to easily observe any play or wear in either the
steering or suspension components whilst at all times during the operation
cycle the hand lamp remains illuminated. The forces exerted by the play
detector are less than those exerted by the road surface by design which
makes it impossible to damage the vehicle which is being inspected whilst
also allowing the product to exceed the VOSA force input requirement.
Despite not being a GETECH product we are able to support an extended 5 year
warranty with this product under an optional service contract. The unit
requires a three phase, 32 Amp electrical supply and, like other GETECH
products, is usually is available from stock. Our own GE457 single plate
play detector is also available as an alternative to this product
