An Automatic Test Lane (ATL) is the highest specification MOT testing bay available, designed to maximise testing efficiency and improve workshop productivity.
An ATL combines a vehicle lift or inspection pit with integrated play detectors and a connected roller brake tester with built-in weighing capability, allowing an "As Presented" brake performance result to be produced as part of the MOT test process.
However, an ATL isn't the right choice for every workshop.
For many garages, a One Person Testing bay offers the best balance of investment and return. That's why we always recommend discussing your requirements with our team before deciding on the most suitable solution. We'll help you choose the specification that best fits your business, available space and future plans—without recommending equipment you don't need.
Once the appropriate MOT bay specification has been agreed, the next step is a GETECH site survey. This allows us to assess your premises, confirm the feasibility of the installation and provide practical advice before any major investment is made.
During the visit, your dedicated project manager will also discuss site-specific requirements such as workshop layout, reporting facilities, customer viewing areas, parking arrangements, utilities and any planning considerations.
In most cases, we can confirm during the survey that your ATL installation is fully achievable, allowing the project to move forward with confidence.
Our complete ATL packages provide a true turnkey solution. From civil and electrical works through to equipment installation, VT01 application support, commissioning, and your first year's calibration and service cover, we manage every stage of the project from start to finish.
To find out more about our ATL MOT bay packages, simply complete the enquiry form below. We'll provide a detailed quotation, technical data sheets and expert advice to help you choose the right solution for your workshop.

Stage one of getting an MOT premises approved is the VT01 application...
After all, why would you commit to a building lease and the MOT Testing Equipment Package and training costs until you're 100% certain of getting the DVSA to approve you?

Part of the VT01 application to get an MOT test station, requires planning permission or an exemption from your local council or a solicitor.
Our expertise may allow you to avoid the costs of such planning applications

We supply various complete bay packages to suit motorcycle testing as well as Class 4 or Class 4 & 7 test bays for both lift and pit installations.

Modern testing equipment captures lots of information about a vehicle in real time, but until recently, the results had to then be manually entered.
Connecting equipment directly to the MOT system reduces errors and save time.

We not only supply complete bay packages but also individual items of equipment as well; nationwide.
