Modern testing equipment captures lots of information about a vehicle in real time, but that information has, until recently, required the results to then be manually keyed into the MOT computer.
This is prone to errors and adds time to the test. Connecting equipment directly to the MOT system will reduce errors and save time. In the long term, it will help to reduce or eliminate the number of incorrectly entered results, as well as stopping incorrectly entered vehicle identification numbers (VINs) and mileage.
Using connected technology can not only make testing more accurate, it can also help reduce fraud.
Saving you time
One advantage of connected MOT equipment will be the time it saves MOT garages. Instead of a tester carrying out a test, noting down the result, then entering it manually, it will be recorded instantly.
The time saved per test won’t be massive – we think it should save you a couple of minutes per test - but when you do hundreds of tests a year, the savings will add up.
Future proofed design
All our equipment is always designed to be updated. If you have ever purchased a GETECH brake tester, we will always design a retro-fit pack to make that product conform to any ongoing changes in the MOT scheme.
GETECH's own range of brake testers has always allowed the MOT tester to concentrate on the quality of test rather than the operation of the equipment and all the latest generation examples with connected technology now fall into line with our own design ethos.
The GETECH GE4-C & GE7-C brake roller testers all have industrial on-board processors which eliminate PC's from the testing equipment which offers the step change to "bullet-proof" reliability that has become synonymous with all GETECH equipment.
All units supplied; as standard, with fully digital displays which are large and clear enough to be seen down the entire testing bay length - they can also be wall mounted for clean more aesthetically pleasing installations. All are bi-directional (4x4), infra-red remote controlled and are supplied with roller covers and a floor frame insert as standard.
We also have a totally modular product design so all our brake tester models also have either; an integrated weighing facility as standard, or the option to include it if not and so the bay can be built up over time alongside your business - thus minimising your start-up costs whilst not limiting your future opportunities to expand.

This is a hand held unit and so, since it is completely mobile, it is ideal for fleet work and it can be used to test any type of vehicle; from motorcycles; when using the vosa approved motorcycle adaptor bracket, through to HGV’s, bus’, coaches, quarry vehicles – we have even sold these units to the aerospace industry as a decelerometer can be positioned literally anywhere in any vehicle!
Designed to be a self-compensating unit the brake meter indicates on its easy-to-read LED screen when it is positioned sufficiently level to perform the brake test and an in-built tolerance ensures that "level enough" is always easily achieved.
When the unit has confirmed it is in a suitable position all further test operations can be performed using only the three buttons on the unit!
