This electronic decelerometer, or brake meter, is a portable, self-contained, digital brake meter tester which can be used to test and report on a vehicles brake efficiency.
It is the modern electronic equivalent of a "tapley meter" and it is able to determine the overall braking efficiency of a vehicles braking system simply by measuring and recording the deceleration forces which act on the vehicle during a normal braking cycle.
The unit is hand-held held unit and so is ideal for fleet work and it can be used to test any type of vehicle; from motorcycles; when using the vosa approved motorcycle adaptor bracket, through to HGV’s, bus’, coaches, quarry vehicles, forklift trucks – we have even sold these units to the aerospace industry as a decelerometer can be positioned literally anywhere in any vehicle!
Designed to be a self-compensating unit the brake meter indicates on its easy-to-read LED screen when it is positioned sufficiently level to perform the brake test and an in-built tolerance ensures that "level enough" is always easily achieved.
When the unit has confirmed it is in a suitable position all further test operations can be performed using only the three buttons on the unit!
All units are supplied with a 12 month calibration certificate and connected key software if used in MOT garages.

Motorcycle Brake Testing Kit
